As the release date approaches, the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Pokedex grows. In recent months, we’ve seen a slew of updates about the new adventures set in the Paldea region, including first looks at the critters we’ll be meeting. Many familiar faces from the best Pokemon games of the past will also be returning. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will have a plethora of Pokemon to catch and encounter.
As the release date approaches, here is a list of all of the Pokemon that have been officially revealed thus far, from starters to legendaries, as well as the rest of the gen 9 Pokemon that we know about.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: Starters

The Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Starters were immediately confirmed in the game’s first trailer. This is the trio:
- Sprigatito (Grass Cat Pokemon)
- Fuecoco (Fire Croc Pokemon)
- Quaxly (Water Duckling Pokemon)
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: Legendaries

The Scarlet and Violet Legendaries of Pokemon have been revealed, and we’re learning more about them.
Koraidon and Miraidon will appear in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, respectively, but it appears that they will be relatively early additions to your squad rather than an end-game addition to help you defeat Scarlet and Violet’s big bad. They’ll essentially function as All-Terrain Vehicles, allowing you to fly, drive, and swim across the new Paldea region, according to the latest trailer. That’s what Game Freak might have meant when it displayed the pair, which it claimed had “powers far exceeding those of other Pokemon.”
