Ever wondered what are BTS members’ favorite anime? Here what we know!
All able-bodied men between the ages of 18 and 28 in South Korea are required by law to serve in the military for two years. BTS members were given special permission to postpone their military service until they turned 30.
According to the BTS management company, Jin (29), the boy band’s oldest member, will begin military training next month. All other BTS members intend to fulfil their military obligations during this time. BTS is expected to make a comeback in 2025.
Because members of the BTS, particularly Jungkook and V, have shown an interest in anime, we thought it would be a great idea to inform you BTS fans about all of their favourite anime series!
1. Naruto
Naruto is arguably the most popular and well-liked anime of all time, so it’s not surprising that it’s also BTS’s favourite.
In the 28th episode of RUN BTS, they sang one of Naruto’s theme songs on Karaoke. A signature is obviously required. The band members also performed an iconic ninja run.
During an interview with Noisey, the band was asked to choose between One Piece, Naruto, and Dragon Ball. BTS’s RM (Namjoon) named Naruto his favourite anime, praising it for its satisfying ending.
Suga (Yoongi) also enjoys the Naruto series. He demonstrated his devotion by cosplaying as Naruto in 2015.
2. One Piece
Jimin is a huge One Piece fan. He has a soft spot for the pirate crew’s swordsman, Zoro. Jimin now owns all of the One Piece manga volumes. When asked what his childhood dream was, Jimin said he liked watching One Piece and that his favourite character is Zoro.
When Jimin receives a Zoro action figure for his birthday, his affection is visible in the image.
3. My Hero Academia
While preparing for performances, V enjoys watching anime. He appears to be a big fan of the My Hero Academia anime series. Backstage at MAMA 2017, he was seen watching an episode of My Hero Academia.
My Hero Academia is without a doubt one of the best beginner anime series of all time. Although the later seasons do not live up to the hype surrounding the first season, it is still a decent anime. Even better if you haven’t seen any anime or don’t watch a lot of it.
4. Dragon Ball
Dragon Ball is one of those animes that most of us either grew up watching or heard about from a friend.
During an interview, Noisey asked the BTS boys to choose between Naruto, Dragon Ball, and One Piece, which sparked a heated debate. Suga tried to dominate the conversation by saying, “Dragon Ball,” “Absolutely Dragon Ball,” and so on. Namjoon chose Naruto.
Jin agreed with Suga and called Dragon Ball a masterpiece.
5. Attack on Titan
The film Attack on Titan inspired BTS’s song “Attack on Bangtan.” Every ARMY member who pays attention to the band’s dorm knows that all seven members are huge fans of the Attack on Titan anime and manga series. All of them have Attack on Titan merchandise or manga volumes.
6. Haikyuu
The biggest Haikyuu fans are BTS members Jungkook and Taehyung. They are both huge Haikyuu fans, and their idol is Shoyo Hinata. In one of the interviews, they even admitted that they enjoy watching sports anime.
7. Slam Dunk
Suga was also a high school basketball player. Even his stage name, “Suga,” ( ), is derived from the first two syllables of “Shooting Guard,” his previous basketball position.
It’s safe to say that Suga is obsessed with Slam Dunk. As a child, Suga was heavily influenced by the anime series, which is why he tries to bring it up whenever possible.
8. Spirited Away
Jungkook once stated in an interview that his childhood dream was to be a Spirited Away character who could transform into a massive dragon.
9. Crayon Shin Chan
Despite not being as into anime as other BTS members, Hoseok recommends Crayon Shin-chan to ARMYs. Shin Chan, a lighthearted comedy anime series, is extremely popular in Asia.
