Manhwas are the Korean equivalent of Manga from South Korea, if you’re unfamiliar with the term. Manhwas, unlike Japanese manga, are usually coloured and only available online.
Among the various genres, action is undoubtedly one of the most popular. So much so that translation teams are constantly receiving new action/fantasy manhwas.
So, in this post, we’ll list 16 amazing action manhwa as well as where you can read them.
Best Action Manhwa
15. FFF-Class Trashero

Kin Han Soo, the protagonist, is returned to Earth after successfully killing the demon king in the fantasy world. When he returns, however, the god of the fantasy world appears with Han Soo’s report card. Han Soo’s personality score is revealed to be an F as a result of him removing all obstacles in his path to killing the demon king. As a result, he is returned to the fantasy world’s beginning and must begin again.
The main character is not your typical isekai protagonist; he’s comedically ruthless, the plot is entertaining, and the art style is stunning. Overall, it’s a fun manhwa with a MC who defies every isekai rule in the book. I highly recommend reading it.
FFF-Class Trashero can be read for free at BiliBili Comics.
14. The Return of the Frozen Player

When monsters that humanity couldn’t handle appeared 5 years ago, the world faced a disaster. Everyone feared the Frost Queen, a logic-defying boss monster who froze the Pacific Ocean with a single wave of her hand.
However, humanity’s five greatest heroes (Top Players), including Seo “Specter” Jun-ho, defeated the Frost Queen…
However, after the frost queen was defeated, the five of them froze. However, 25 years later, Specter unexpectedly broke through the ice, and now “there’s a second floor?!”
Unlike many other dungeon novels, The Return of the Frozen Player takes its time developing a world, powers, and characters.
Its premise is pretty generic, and I wish they paid more attention to the side characters, but it’s an enjoyable read that I’d recommend checking out.
The Return of the Frozen Player is free to read on Reaper Scans.
13. God of Blackfield

‘Kang Chan,’ the legend of the French Foreign Legion! During the African war, his opponents referred to him as the “God of Blackfield,” the “God of the Black Land,” and were both terrified and awestruck by him. Kang Chan, on the other hand, was killed in action by an unknown bullet shot from behind him while on a mission to kill Masallan, the brain behind SISS, the Sunni support group. As his vision blurred, he saw his thirteen team members being killed one by one, all of whom had complete faith in him. Kang Chan was about to die after being shot by a traitor when he was saved by an unknown power and awoke in South Korea three years later.
He was, however, in the body of another ‘Kang Chan,’ a 19-year-old high school boy who was bullied at school. Kang Chan’s journey to exact vengeance on the traitor and discover the truth behind his rebirth begins right now!
In my humble opinion, God of Blackfield is one of the best manhwas I’ve read; I’m not usually a fan of anything outside of the fantasy genre, but I really enjoyed reading this one. You should definitely look into it.
God of Blackfield is available for free reading on Reaper Scans.
12. Nano Machine

Cheon Yeo-Woon, a Demonic Cult orphan, receives an unexpected visit from his descendant from the future, who inserts a “nano machine” into Cheon Yeo-Woon’s body, which drastically changes Cheon Yeo-Woon’s life once activated. Cheon Yeo-journey Woon’s to become the best martial artist while avoiding the Demonic Cult has only just begun.
Nano Machine has a badass MC who doesn’t take crap from others and has no mercy for his enemies, but is gentle with his subordinates. The art style and fight scenes are also fantastic.
Nano Machine can be read for free on Reaper Scans.
11. Mercenary Enrollment

Our MC, Yu Ijin, was the sole survivor of a plane crash when he was a child. After becoming a mercenary to survive for ten years, he returns to his hometown to see his family.
The story is quite unique, as opposed to all of the other manhwas’ levelling systems, swords and magic, and constellations. Even without all of that, the MC is still overpowered, and the art is quite good. It’s comparable to The God of Blackfield. Overall, Mercenary Enrollment is an enjoyable read that I highly recommend.
Reaper Scans is offering Mercenary Enrollment for free reading.
10. Lookism

An image of the Netflix original animation, “Lookism,” based on the webtoon (Screenshot from Netflix)
Daniel is an unattractive loner who is constantly bullied and abused, but one day he awakens in a different body. Daniel, now taller, more handsome, and cooler than ever in his new form, aims to accomplish everything he couldn’t before. What lengths will he go to protect his body… and his secrets?
Lookism is excellent, but it drags at times and contains a lot of filler. Nonetheless, it is excellent. In addition, Netflix has recently announced an anime adaptation. So keep an eye out for that as well.
Lookism can be read for free at Webtoons.com.
9. Survival Story of a Sword King in a Fantasy World

Ryu Han-Bin was a regular guy who had just finished his mandatory military service when he was whisked away to another world. He was abandoned in a desolate world teeming with monsters, with the goal of surviving and growing stronger. The issue is that the ‘Guideline,’ which was supposed to be his survival manual, is riddled with typos.
If you’re looking for an isekai with a good plot, comedy, and fight scenes, I highly recommend Survival Story of a Sword King in a Fantasy World.
The plot is amazing, the art is amazing, the characters are amazing, and this manhwa is truly incredible.
The Survival Story of a Sword King in a Fantasy World is free to read on Luminous Scans.
8. A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special

The Shadow Labyrinth is the most terrible existence humanity has ever encountered. Desir Arman is one of the six human survivors still alive within it. The six attempt but fail to complete the final level of the labyrinth, and the world ends.
However, just as Desir was about to die, the world is revealed to him… thirteen years ago?! Desir is transported back in time to when he enrolled at Havrion, the nation’s premier magical academy. He has been reunited with his long-lost friends and is ready to alter history in order to save the world and his loved ones…!
The Shadow World will appear in just three years! Will Desir be able to assemble a powerful army and save the world?
The fights in this manhwa become more exciting with each arc, and the art is quite good. Also, the story is intriguing, and the “dungeons” of this work are unlike those of other manhwas.
TappyToon offers a free read of A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special.
7. Eleceed

Jiwoo is a good-hearted young man who secretly employs a cat’s lightning-quick reflexes to make the world a better place, one saved child or foster pet at a time. Kayden is a fugitive secret agent who has been imprisoned in the body of a…um…decidedly fat old fluffy cat. They set out to combat the forces that would allow evil to rule the world, armed with Jiwoo’s superpowers and Kayden’s superintelligence. That is, if they can tolerate each other long enough to complete the task.
The plot is fantastic, the characters feel natural, and the art style is fantastic as well. Simply read it! You will not be let down.
Eleceed is available to read for free on Webtoons.com
6. Damn Reincarnation

Hamel is a warrior who went on a mission with his colleagues to exterminate the demon kings. Regrettably, he died just as the battle with the most powerful of the demon kings began. He was reborn as the descendant of his colleague, the hero Vermouth, after dying. Hamel’s descendant from the great Vermouth’s bloodline. No, he had changed his name to Eugene Lionhart. He has achieved something that he did not have in his previous life by transitioning from a dying body to a new body. And, out of nowhere, a reincarnation, as well as the reality of coexisting with demons. In a new world where everything is suspect. His unfinished business from his previous life resumes in Eugene’s body.
The main character is likable, the characters are amazing, and the plot, while resembling some typical reincarnation and demon vs hero scenarios, is fantastic. So far, I’m enjoying it.
Damn Reincarnation is available for free reading on Asura Scans.
5. Academy’s Undercover Professor

He wasn’t reborn with talent or ability, but his earthly knowledge kept him one step ahead in this other world. Magic exists here, and while science made rapid progress, magic stagnated in the name of tradition. He was able to do things that other wizards couldn’t even imagine by using his earthly knowledge and not being bound by traditional thinking. Nonetheless, becoming an undercover professor (accidentally) for a mysterious secret society (accidentally) at the prestigious Sören academy was never on his bucket list!
This manhwa is pretty good; it’s about a guy who is reincarnated in a different world. He rose to prominence under a variety of aliases, including Gerrard and Machiavelli. His most recent alter ego is Ludger Cherish, a young and gifted professor at the prestigious Soren Academy. However, what appears to be a simple teaching job turns out to be anything but.
This manhwa is full of action and comedy, and the artwork is fantastic. There’s no sign of a romantic interest as of yet, but I’m not sure if that will change in the future. I strongly advise reading it.
Academy’s Undercover Professor is free to read on Reaper Scans.
4. Solo Leveling

At number four, we have Solo Leveling, which you have almost certainly heard of if not read about unless you live under a rock or something.
The plot revolves around a young man named Sung Jin-Woo, who is a low-level E-rank hunter. Everything changes, however, after he survives a deadly situation in a mysterious dungeon. He receives a ‘System’ that assists him in ‘Leveling Up’ after completing quests assigned to him by the system. So, at its core, this story is about a weak guy who becomes the only person in his world who can keep getting stronger indefinitely.
An anime adaptation of Solo Leveling has also been announced, with the show set to premiere in 2023.
Solo Leveling is available to buy on Amazon. It is also available to read for free on Asura Scans.
3. The Beginning After The End

King Grey possesses unrivalled strength, wealth, and prestige in a world ruled by martial prowess. Those in positions of great power, on the other hand, face solitude. Under the glamorous exterior of a powerful king lurks the shell of man, devoid of purpose and will. The king has been reincarnated into a new world full of magic and monsters, giving him a new lease on life.
Correcting his past mistakes, however, will not be his only challenge. Underneath the new world’s peace and prosperity is an undercurrent threatening to destroy everything he has worked for, calling his role and reason for being born again into question.
I know what you’re thinking, but this manhwa was inspired by Mushoku Tensei, and no, it doesn’t have any of the weird stuff. The beginning is similar to Mushoku Tensei (minus the weird stuff), but the ending is completely different.
The world-building, characters, and art are all excellent, and the main character is an absolute badass. Make sure to read this one; it’s incredible.
The Beginning After The End is available to buy on Amazon. You can also read it for free up until chapter 25 on Tapas.
2. SSS-Class Suicide Hunter

Kim Gong-ja lives a mundane life in the mysterious, RPG dungeon-like Tower, envying all the star hunters. His wish for more is granted one day when he gains the legendary ability to imitate the abilities of others… at the cost of his life.
The Flame Emperor, the top hunter, kills him before he can make sense of it! This, however, activates his ability, and he has now copied a new one, the ability to travel back in time after death. How will Kim Gong-ja employ these skills to outwit his opponents and ascend to the top?
SSS-Class Suicide Hunter is a fantastic power fantasy/dungeon-based manhwa with a distinct story that sets it apart from other manhwas in this genre.
The story is fantastic, and our main character’s power is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. The lore is absolutely incredible, thanks to the various quests and environments created in the tower.
The artwork is fantastic, with each background, scenario, environment, and character being individually designed. The designs of the side characters are equally memorable and cool.
The characters are all well-written and have distinct goals and objectives. The murim-based floor and the two characters who live on it appeal to me. (This is all I can say without giving anything away.) But as a novel reader, I can assure you that the next arc is going to be freaking amazing!
Overall it’s really fun to read and It is also one of my favorite manhwas of all time, so I highly recommend reading this one.
SSS-Class Suicide Hunter is available to read for free on Reaper Scans.
1. Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint

Dokja was a typical office worker who spent his free time reading his favourite web novel, ‘Three Ways to Survive the Apocalypse.’ However, when the novel becomes a reality, he is the only one who knows how the world will end. Dokja uses his newfound understanding to alter the course of the story and the world as he knows it.
I’ve seen people online worship Solo Leveling, and I know it’s good because I enjoy it as well. However, in my humble opinion, the Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint is far superior.
The plot is intriguing and only deepens with all of the world-building that takes place, and the characters, man, they are all so freaking awesome! It is one of my all-time favourite manhwa/webtoons, and I highly recommend reading it.
The Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint is free to read on Flame Scans.
BONUS: Kill the Hero

The world was transformed into a game one day. ‘Dungeons’ and’monsters’ appeared in the middle of cities, as did ‘players’ with godly authority.
Se-jun Lee, the Messiah Guild’s guild master, would bring salvation to the world. “Let us work together to save the world.” Let us finally put an end to this nightmare.”
The entire world rejoiced at the arrival of the hero, and I became his comrade. But… He wasn’t a hero or a messiah, but the world adored him. He was a scheming hero with a secret desire to rule the world. “You did a good job. I couldn’t have come up until now if it hadn’t been for you.”
I died at his blade in the previous dungeon, or so I thought. The announcement I heard right next to my ear as I died. [Beginning the game.]
I went back in time to when I hadn’t yet awakened as a player. And now it’s my turn…… To ‘hunt’ him down.
Kill the Hero is available for free reading on Reaper Scans.
